Behind the rows of produce, busy vendors, and eager customers, the CBFM is a bustling hub of sustainability. Local farmers and artisans deliver fresh, local food to a growing number of shoppers demanding food that is not only healthy, but environmentally friendly. Our artists, crafters and non-food vendors adhere to the same ideals of being climate responsible.
We take SUSTAINABILITY seriously at the Crested Butte Farmers Market
● Vendors are located within a 100 mile radius to reduce the travel footprint and to shop local
● Our farms are certified organic, natural or follow these practices
● No plastic straws or water bottles
● Food vendors must use compostable or recyclable materials
● We encourage and sell reusable shopping bags and offer paper receipts only
upon request
● Food vendors can donate excess produce, meat, eggs and bread at the end of each
market to offset market fees. This food helps locals experiencing food insecurities
via Mountain Roots’ Backyard Harvest program.
